6. Just at that moment, out from the forest, there appeared a band of huntsmen following the Wolf’s trail and shooting as they came.

Sergei Prokofiev’s muzikale sprookje “Peter en de Wolf” is een integraal onderdeel van de schoolcurricula. Met zijn hulp leren kinderen over de hele wereld de instrumenten van een symfonieorkest kennen en onderscheiden. Het is populair bij jong en oud sinds de première in 1936.

Deze opname van de Wiener Philharmoniker onder leiding van Karl Böhm werd gemaakt in 1974. Hermione Gingold nam de rol van verteller op zich voor de Britse release.

Dit nummer is een SHM SACD. Dit formaat is de verdere ontwikkeling van de enkellaagse SACD en maakt gebruik van een bijzonder lichttransparante kunststof (superhoog materiaal).
