Dimitris Tsakas and his trio return to the spotlight with their new album "Conversation Helps". "The album title was born from discussions during rehearsals with Alexandros and Kimonas, as we analyzed the essence of our music, artistic creation, and our lives here in Greece. These conversations inspired us to give musical substance to thoughts about our everyday life, how it affects us, and how it guides us in musical creation." (Dimitris Tsakas)
Composer and musician Dimitris Tsakas studied jazz saxophone on a scholarship at Berklee College of Music. He has participated in more than 200 record productions and live performances by Greek and international artists. He has composed music for theater and cinema, while with his personal jazz ensemble he has performed many concerts in Greece and abroad. As a soloist, he has collaborated with the Athens State Orchestra, as well as with the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra, playing and recording for the first time in Greece the emblematic work Charlie Parker with Strings. His personal discography includes four albums, the most recent being "Conversation Helps" (2024). He is the musical curator of “Live in the Square” at Piraeus 260, as part of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, as well as the “Jazz in the Museum” series at the Basil and Eliza Goulandris Foundation.
