Op het moment van deze opname in 1957 was de Amerikaanse saxofonist Arnett Cobb nog aan het herstellen van een ernstig auto-ongeluk. In 1959 nam hij drie sterke albums op voor Prestige, waaronder "Party Time". Cobb werd begeleid door pianist Ray Bryant, bassist Wendell Marshall, drummer Art Taylor en Ray Barretto op conga's. Nummers als "When My Dreamboat Comes Home", "Blues in the Closet" en "Flying Home" maken van dit album een topkeuze.
